There was a lot of parquet installed in this country from the 20’s through the late 70’s. Although it often was mistreated, and the glue bond is now questionable, it is wood that can be beautifully restored.
The wood to the right is red oak parquet, installed in the 20s. When the carpet was taken up, the wood was in a distressed condition. We were pleased to see how well the wood responded to our process.
Depending on your taste, you now can restore your parquet with Satin, Semi-Gloss, or High Gloss finish (pictured above).
